RepositóriUM is organized around communities, which typically correspond to the organizational units (Schools, Departments, and Research Centers) of the University of Minho. Each community can group its documents into different collections. Within each collection, there can be an unlimited number of documents.
With this structure, RepositóriUM allows communities considerable flexibility in determining their own structure, as well as policies and workflows for document submission (e.g., who can submit, whether review processes exist) and access (in principle, open access, though more restricted access levels can be applied to certain documents or collections if needed) to their scholarly output.
Each community has its own page featuring information, news, and links that reflect its interests, as well as a list of the collections within that community.
